At $342.26, however, the stock prices in most of that good news. The base-case fair value of $344 sits essentially at the current price, the consensus 12-month target of $348.52 implies less than 2% upside, and the Forward P/E of 39.78 leaves little room for error if the services growth rate fades or if Middle East risk crystallizes.

For a long-duration compounder, that is not a reason to avoid the stock — it is a reason to size the position appropriately and to scale in through volatility rather than chasing the 52-week high. The thesis works on a 3+ year time horizon if you believe (i) the LEAP installed base will roughly triple by 2030, (ii) services mix will continue to drag operating margins higher, and (iii) the $190–210B backlog provides multi-year revenue visibility that supports a premium multiple through the cycle. The thesis breaks if Middle East geopolitics meaningfully impairs flight hours for multiple quarters, if Pratt’s GTF Advantage takes more narrow-body share than expected, or if multiples compress in a broad market drawdown.
